My darling sister, whose smile lit up a room, whose warmth and generosity of spirit reached out to all who knew her. Whose dogged determination and love of life knew no boundaries. When I heard about Diane my heart sank as did Naomi’s. We will miss her dearly, and the world truly is a darker place without her. But I remember the good times, France, London and even here on the Island and those memories will never leave me!

We were so saddened to hear that Di had died. i was in the process of making a card for her to let her know we were thinking of her and the rest of the family, and to lift her spirits. It sounds like the family were all there which will have made a difference to her and will also hopefully help you in the coming days and weeks.
All our love at this difficult time.

I was so sorry to hear that Diane had died in hospital. Please accept my sincere condolences. It was such a pleasure to look after Diane. She was always so positive in her outlook and always had places lined up to visit. She may not have achieved all of these but she did remarkably well in what she did manage. She couldn’t have achieved all of this without all your support and help. You were always busy beavering in the background and trying out new recipes etc. to try and tempt Diane with. Take care.
— Sue from Macmillan
Di will always be with you. Words don’t convey how we felt. So know she isn’t suffering anymore.
— Aly

The loss of a clearly loved near one, is the most painful of experiences and the world seems a bleak black place, but relief does come, slowly, after a time, and happy & pleasant memories replace the black clouds.
But still we miss our loved one, we carry them in our hearts and memories where they will never die and be with us always.
Our thoughts & prayers are with you at this sad time.

We only met a few times, but corresponded on Facebook with a common interest , our beautiful children. I cannot begin to understand the pain you all must be feeling. You showed such warmth Diane, and it so sorry we didn’t get to know each other better. Andrew spoke so highly of you, as I do of Tom. My thoughts are with all your family.
— Jeanette Sharp
We are deeply saddened to hear of Diane’s passing. Although we haven’t seen her in over 40 years we both remember her so well. The words we are reading here tell us what a great person she became and to be taken from her family whilst still so young will bring pain that we can only imagine.
Our deepest condolences to all the family at this very sad time.
— Mue and Chris Young
Dear Di would like this quote we think. Banksy said you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and another time, later on, when somebody says your name for the last time. From the love that’s poured out on this page alone, your spirit clearly lives on now and will for some time to come, down the generations. What we do in life echoes in eternity, it is said. We will remember your humour, your courage in the face of life’s greatest challenge and the warm welcome you gave us when we moved to Beds. God bless you, Ian and family - peace and blessings....
— Kevin and Lynn Reynolds
God bless you Diane, you were a great summers netball team player ,school friend, rest in Gods loving arms and watch over your family with all the angels. xxx

Diane, she was many things to me, I’ve known her for 24 years. Virtually my whole life. I’m so lucky to have been one she loved and cared for. Her presence, fearless and confident created such beautiful characters in her children. I will always remember our French lessons with ice cream after, our trip through france, the water fights in the garden and so many more memories that made my childhood brilliant. If knew what the future held, I would do it again the same way because the lessons I learned and the time I spent with the family could not be done better. I will miss Diane, I will miss her voice, I loved her like so many, and I can not begin to comprehend life without her. I am here always and forever. X
— Jenny Rubin
After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are the happy memories that we’ve shared with our loved ones who have passed, this is what keeps them alive in our hearts and in our minds, and they will continue to live on, through us. Our condolences.
— Barrie and Mary Jenks
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Diane’s passing as a result of the cancer she suffered from. My first meeting with Diane was through a Banana cake, which she had baked for the family and George shared with us in the office, it was delicious. I jokingly asked George to ask Diane to bake one for us in the office; in the typical kind and generous way she was - SHE DID!

As Ian has said in his testimony for his loving wife Diane, “not just our family benefited from her kindness and loving nature
their friends did, and not only them but most people who came into contact with her”.

Here is a woman I had never met before, you ask for a cake and she generously bakes for us without question. From then onwards she continued to bake cakes for us on a regular basis. This was how loving she was. We all have lost an exceptionally generous, loving, kind and genuine friend. I will miss her most dearly. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
— Benson Themuka
Words cannot describe how caring, wonderful and loving. I am so lucky to have an extended family like you in my life. You will be forever in our hearts. Miss you loads xx
— William
I came to Ampthill when I was 14. You welcomed me into your family even though you had never met me. You treated me as a son while busy with your own young children. You loved me unconditionally.

You showed me how to give without expecting anything back in return. You showed me how doing good is the secret to happiness. You showed me how to be a better person by the way you lived.

I am so grateful, I am so proud, and I love you so much, mum.

xXx
Jeff

I keep reading and rereading all these wonderful words and thoughts about my beautiful sister Diane (Di), We as a family all know what a kind, loving and very special person she was, but I find it very comforting to know that you where all a part of her life and have been touched by her magic. She was the very best sister anyone could ever wish to have, I loved her deeply and will miss her more than I ever thought possible, I can’t believes she has gone! but she loved us all so very much and was the link that kept us all together, for her sake we must never break that link! She will live on because of how she touched our lives. Goodnight God bless and mind the bed bugs don’t bite! Till we meet again, all the love in the world now and for always your sister Barb X X X and extra special hugs and kisses from Dave who loved you like his own sister X X X
